What You’ll Do

  • Strategically guide and manage the Directorate’s financial activities.
  • Develop and implement an Annual Performance Plan (APP) aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Monitor compliance with financial prescripts and legislative frameworks.
  • Oversee revenue collection and expenditure management, ensuring timely payment to service providers.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on financial planning, budgeting, and reporting systems.
  • Implement and maintain effective financial controls and internal systems to enhance financial management.
  • Coordinate the preparation and quality assurance of management accounting reports.
  • Manage the directorate’s budget and monitor expenditure trends for effective financial planning.

What You’ll Need

  • Matric and an undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) in Accounting, Financial Management, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience at a middle/senior managerial level in financial management and accounting.
  • A valid driver’s license is required (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
  • SMS Pre-Entry (Nyukela) Certificate prior to appointment.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting processes, financial management, and relevant legislation such as the PFMA.
  • Excellent strategic leadership, people management, and communication skills.
