What You’ll Do
- Lead the creation and execution of integrated communication strategies that align with provincial goals.

- Oversee the management and continuous improvement of the Gauteng Provincial Government website, focusing on content management and user experience.
- Manage the production of high-quality print and digital publications, ensuring adherence to editorial standards and corporate identity.
- Provide strategic leadership for multimedia services to support marketing and public awareness initiatives.
- Drive internal communication efforts to enhance employee engagement and understanding of government priorities.
- Develop and implement policies and frameworks to improve communication efficiency and effectiveness.
- Foster partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance collaborative communication efforts.
- Manage the Directorate’s resources in compliance with applicable regulations and frameworks.
What You’ll Need
- An NQF Level 7 qualification in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Studies, Digital Communication, or a related field; an NQF Level 8 qualification is an advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience in a middle or senior managerial role, showcasing proven leadership capabilities.
- Experience in integrated communication services, including digital and multimedia communication strategies.
- Strong project management, financial management, and people management skills.
- Excellent communication, writing, editing, and content development abilities.
- Knowledge of website governance, content management systems, and SEO principles.
- Proven skills in stakeholder management, negotiation, and partnership-building.
- Innovative and results-driven approach, with a commitment to professionalism and service excellence.

Requirements
An NQF Level 7 qualification in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Studies, Digital Communication, Visual Communication, Fine Arts or a related field.An NQF Level 8 qualification in the related fields will be an added advantage.
5 years of experience at a middle/senior managerial level, with proven managerial capability.
Proven experience in leading integrated communication, digital, visual and multimedia communication services, 199 including video, photography, graphic design and website/content management; managing multidisciplinary teams; and delivering high-impact campaigns in a complex environment.
Key Competencies: The successful candidate must demonstrate strategic leadership; advanced communication, writing, editing, content development and technical capabilities; strong project, financial, performance and people management skills; and sound knowledge of integrated communication, media, marketing, digital communication and audience engagement practices.
Knowledge of website governance, content management systems and SEO principles is essential.
The candidate must also demonstrate excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and partnership-building skills; strong analytical, research, problem-solving and decision-making abilities; and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and segmented target audiences.

Job Duties
Lead the development and implementation of integrated communication strategies, campaigns and programmes that support provincial priorities and service delivery objectives.Direct media buying, advertising and audience engagement initiatives to maximise communication reach, visibility and impact across multiple platforms.
Oversee the governance, performance and continuous improvement of the Gauteng Provincial Government website, including content management, user experience, SEO, accessibility and development of sub-sites.
Manage the production and distribution of high- quality print and digital publications, ensuring compliance with editorial, language, publishing and corporate identity standards.
Provide strategic leadership for professional photography, videography and multimedia services that support the Executive Council, marketing, communication and public awareness initiatives.
Drive internal communication strategies and programmes that strengthen employee engagement, organisational culture and awareness of government priorities.
Develop and implement communication policies, governance frameworks, systems and standard operating procedures to improve efficiency, effectiveness, quality and consistency.
Foster strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, communicators, media partners, agencies and service providers.
Manage the Directorate's financial, human and operational resources in accordance with the PFMA, Public Service Regulations and other applicable frameworks.
