What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate the investigation of employee grievances and misconduct.
  • Conduct disciplinary hearings and represent the employer during conciliations and arbitrations.
  • Participate in Collective Bargaining structures and the Provincial Labour Relations Forum.
  • Compile and present various Labour Relations reports for management.
  • Advise management on complex Labour Relations issues and strike management.
  • Oversee the performance of personnel within the Labour Relations unit.
  • Lead capacity-building initiatives within the department.

What You’ll Need

  • Matric (Grade 12) certificate or equivalent.
  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Labour Relations, Labour Law, or Industrial Relations (NQF 6/7).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in Labour Relations, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Labour Legislations, Public Service Policies, and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent research, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and in report writing.
  • Analytical skills for investigation and presentation.

Requirements

Matric (Grade 12) certificate or equivalent plus National Diploma / Bachelor's Degree (NQF6/7) /in Labour Relations / Labour Law / Industrial Relations.

Valid Drivers License.

Three (3) to five (5) years relevant working experience in the Field of Labour Relations of which two (2) years must be at a Supervisory (Salary Level 7/8) level.

A valid drivers license.

Knowledge: Through knowledge of Labour Legislations, Acts, Public Service Policies / Regulations and Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Ability to work under pressure.

The ability to develop and interpret policies.

Skills: Computer literacy in Microsoft packages.

Research, conflict resolution skills, interpersonal skills, communication (verbal and report writing).

Analytic investigation and presentation skills.

Job Duties
