About the Role
The Department of Higher Education and Training is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional for the position of Director: CET Curriculum and Institutional Support. This role is based in the Northern and Western Cape Regional Office, where you will engage closely with local communities and educational institutions to drive the strategic planning and governance of post-school education and training. What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage the strategic planning process for curriculum development in the region.
- Support institutional governance and management initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Oversee lecturer development programs to ensure high-quality teaching practices.
- Manage examinations and assessments, ensuring adherence to departmental frameworks.
- Coordinate monitoring and evaluation functions for college programs, providing insightful reporting.
- Foster partnerships with industry, SETAs, and government entities to strengthen stakeholder relations.
- Handle administrative and financial responsibilities, including budget management for employee compensation.
- Advise public CET Colleges on labour relations and change management practices.
What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF level 7) in Education or a related field.
- A relevant postgraduate degree (NQF level 8) is advantageous.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in the Post-School Education and Training (PSET) sector.
- At least 5 years of experience in a middle or senior managerial role.
- Proven management experience in the PSET environment is essential.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable legal frameworks within the PSET sector.
- Completion of the Nyukela Public Service SMS Pre-entry Programme is required.
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and financial management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a willingness to work under pressure.
- Valid driver’s license is essential, along with a readiness to travel extensively.
