About the Role
The Department of Public Service and Administration is seeking a dedicated Administration Clerk for the Greening and Livelihoods initiative, based in Upington, Northern Cape. What You’ll Do
- Provide general clerical support services to the team.
- Record, organize, store, capture, and retrieve correspondence and information.
- Update registers and manage administrative tasks efficiently.
- Handle routine inquiries and manage communication through emails and phone calls.
- Distribute documents and packages to stakeholders as required.
- Maintain an organized filing system for the office.
- Type documents and correspondence when necessary.
- Keep a register of incoming and outgoing documents.
- Offer clerical support for supply chain management within the department.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding procurement processes.
- Assist in maintaining the asset register of the component.
- Facilitate logistical support services, including travel and accommodation bookings.
- Provide financial administration support by capturing and updating expenditure records.
- Verify correctness of travel claims and submit them for managerial approval.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) certificate.
- Basic knowledge of Public Services Regulation and the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Understanding of procurement processes.
- Strong organizing and planning skills.
- Effective record-keeping abilities.
- Proficiency in computer skills and good communication.
- Excellent interpersonal relations skills and the ability to work with diverse groups.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
- A responsible work ethic and conflict resolution skills.
