What You’ll Do
- Provide therapeutic nutrition treatment and counselling for patients with various health conditions.
- Promote breastfeeding and adhere to MBFI/IYCF protocols.
- Support micronutrient malnutrition control through outreach services and local clinics.
- Coordinate off-site dietetic services and collaborate with healthcare specialists.
- Lead nutrition education and health promotion campaigns.
- Assist in food service management and document patient care effectively.
- Complete administrative tasks related to patient care and services.
- Participate in professional development and training initiatives.
- Support the clinical manager in maintaining clinic operations smoothly.
What You’ll Need
- Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dietician.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician is mandatory.
- Relevant experience varies by grade:
- Grade 1: No experience required for RSA qualified; 1-year experience for foreign qualified.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years’ experience for RSA qualified; 11 years for foreign qualified.
- Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years’ experience for RSA qualified; 21 years for foreign qualified.
- Valid driver’s licence (Code B/EB) and willingness to drive to health facilities in the Garden Route District.
- Strong clinical knowledge in managing disease-specific nutrition support.
- Proficiency in therapeutic dietary interventions and effective communication skills.
- Organizational competence to manage clinical, outreach, and administrative tasks.
- Leadership abilities and commitment to continuous professional development.
