The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment is seeking a committed individual for the position of Deputy Director: Strategic Regional Enforcement and Management, based in Limpopo Province. This vital role involves coordinating joint initiatives to bolster anti-poaching and anti-trafficking capabilities in the Premier Integrated Wildlife Zone, a focus area for wildlife conservation efforts in South Africa. In this position, you will work closely with various stakeholders, attend provincial wildlife crime forums, and provide strategic support to national wildlife trafficking projects. What You’ll Do

• Coordinate joint initiatives to enhance anti-poaching and anti-trafficking efforts within the Premier Integrated Wildlife Zone.
• Manage case dockets and provide support for criminal investigations related to wildlife crimes.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders and attend important forums and meetings to ensure effective collaboration.
• Provide strategic support for national wildlife trafficking projects and compliance with legal procedures.
• Oversee enforcement and investigation operations to achieve successful law enforcement outcomes.

What You’ll Need

• National Diploma (NQF6) in Policing, Forensic Investigation, Law, Environmental Law, or a related field recognized by SAQA.
• A minimum of five years’ experience in investigation, enforcement, or related fields, with at least three years in a junior management role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of environmental policies, criminal justice systems, and relevant legislation.
• Strong legal drafting, investigative, and evidence-gathering skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a service-oriented approach.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
