What You’ll Do

  • Manage the review process of the Strategic Plan and the Annual Performance Plan (APP) to ensure alignment with governmental objectives.
  • Oversee the compilation of the annual departmental operational plan, ensuring it meets strategic priorities.
  • Lead the development of the Service Delivery Improvement Plan (SDIP), enhancing service effectiveness and community responsiveness.
  • Coordinate the audit process for pre-determined objectives, ensuring accountability and transparency in departmental operations.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that strategic initiatives are effectively communicated and implemented.

What You’ll Need

  • Matric and an undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) in Strategic Management, Business Administration, Business Management, Public Management, or Public Administration as recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in strategy and planning, with at least 3 years at the Assistant Director or Junior Management level.
  • Valid driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
  • Proven experience in developing, monitoring, and reporting on indicators at the project or program level.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislative frameworks, including the Public Service Act, Labour Relations Act, and PFMA.
  • Strong understanding of government planning practices and the public service environment, alongside competencies in people management, financial management, and problem-solving.
