About the Role
The Department of Trade and Industry is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Director: Liquor Affairs & Business Regulations to join their head office in Polokwane, Limpopo. What You’ll Do
- Oversee and manage all administrative functions related to liquor licensing.
- Coordinate with Local Liquor Authorities and the Liquor Board for effective licensing processes.
- Maintain and update the provincial liquor outlet database to ensure accurate records.
- Ensure compliance with regulations through quality assurance of applications.
- Facilitate responsible drinking initiatives and community awareness programs.
- Handle disputes and legal processes related to liquor license applications.
- Implement and administer policies and operational plans for liquor affairs and business registration.
- Manage and allocate resources, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation.
What You’ll Need
- An NQF 6 qualification in Commerce, Business Management, Economics, Public Administration, Commercial Law, Law, or an equivalent recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in the Business Environment, with at least three years at a supervisory level.
- Valid driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation regarding liquor affairs and business registration.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer literacy and report writing, along with effective planning and organizing skills.
