What You’ll Do

  • Provide strategic direction and management for the Traditional Affairs Branch.
  • Oversee the establishment and functionality of traditional leadership institutions.
  • Manage administrative support for various traditional leadership entities.
  • Coordinate and oversee the administration of initiation schools.
  • Facilitate the recognition and organization of events for traditional leaders.
  • Manage human, financial, and other resources effectively.
  • Evaluate the performance of the branch against set objectives and standards.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.
  • Set clear goals and performance expectations for your team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

What You’ll Need

  • A Matric certificate plus a qualification at NQF Level 8 in a relevant field such as Anthropological Services, Social Sciences, Law, or Public Administration.
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience at a senior managerial level.
  • A valid driver’s license (with exceptions for individuals with disabilities).
  • SMS Pre-Entry (Nyukela) Certificate prior to appointment.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation governing traditional leadership and public service.
  • Competencies in strategic capability, people management, financial management, and project management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
