What You’ll Do

  • Review and implement Treasury’s reporting requirements in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act.
  • Engage in legislative and policy reforms, providing formal written input and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor financial management and performance of SOCs to ensure compliance with prescribed regulations.
  • Conduct financial analysis of SOCs, evaluating expenditure trends and strategic plans.
  • Draft budgetary chapters and provide insights on annual budget allocations for public entities.
  • Liaise with SOCs to gather necessary information and provide advice on policy issues to senior officials.
  • Contribute to the preparation of key publications such as the Budget Review and Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS).

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 certificate along with a National Diploma in Accounting or Finance (NQF level 6).
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field is an advantage.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience, including 2 years at an Assistant Director level or similar in a financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of financial report analysis and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, particularly with SOCs.
