About the Opportunity

The City of Johannesburg is offering an exciting internship opportunity for students and graduates residing in Johannesburg. This programme is designed to provide hands-on workplace exposure for those pursuing or having completed studies in accounting or related fields. Successful candidates will work within the Finance Branch of the Transport Department, gaining invaluable experience over a period of up to 18 months.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will support the Transport Finance Revenue Section with tasks such as inventory and cash management, revenue management, banking processes, and financial reporting. They will also assist in ensuring compliance with municipal financial policies and the Municipal Finance Management Act.

Requirements/Qualifications

Eligible candidates must have completed Grade 12 at NQF Level 4 and be pursuing or have completed a Degree or Diploma in Accounting or a related field at NQF Level 6 or 7. No prior work experience is required, but applicants must reside in Johannesburg and not have participated in a related internship before.

Benefits

Interns will receive a monthly stipend ranging from R4 951.88 to R10 109.86, depending on their qualification status.
