What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement systems for improved financial management and audit outcomes
  • Compile provincial standards operating procedures for adherence by public entities and subsidiaries
  • Review and report on the quality of interim and annual financial statements
  • Manage the clearance of monthly suspense and inter-department accounts
  • Oversee the implementation of National Treasury Instruction notes
  • Prepare and review consolidated annual financial statements and supporting audit files
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to enhance collaboration and transparency
  • Perform strategic and operational planning for financial management
  • Ensure effective management of stakeholder relationships and administrative support functions
  • Lead and manage a team, including people management and financial oversight

What You’ll Need

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in Financial Accounting or a related field, as recognized by SAQA
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in financial accounting, including three years at a junior managerial level or Assistant Director level
  • Valid vehicle driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities)
  • Strong understanding of Treasury Directives, PFMA, GAAP, GRAP, and Treasury Regulations
  • Excellent analytical and innovative thinking skills, particularly in financial accounting
  • Proficiency in report writing and advanced Excel
