What You’ll Do

  • Assist various healthcare facilities with the billing of account backlogs and invoicing processes.
  • Raise and release invoices in accordance with the Uniformed Patient Fee Schedule (UPFS) billing procedures.
  • Provide support to facilities’ fees departments by generating relevant reports for outstanding patient accounts.
  • Manage submissions of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) claims, including handling rejections and resubmissions.
  • Liaise with debtors, medical aids, and other stakeholders to address queries related to outstanding balances and claims.
  • Ensure timely submission of invoices to State Departments and assist hospitals in resolving billing backlogs.
  • Support the clean-up of outstanding medical aid balances through thorough investigation and follow-up.

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum educational qualification: Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with Mathematics and/or Accounting as a passed subject.
  • Relevant experience in a hospital patient fees or health-related claims environment.
  • Familiarity with medical aid/scheme claims processes.
  • Proficient in Health Information Systems (HIS) and Accounts Receivable Systems.
  • Valid Code B/EB driver’s license (candidates with a valid Learner’s License may apply).
  • Willingness to travel and spend extended periods away from the office.
  • Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
