What You’ll Do
- Manage and coordinate grievances within the department to ensure fair treatment of all employees.
- Monitor the implementation of public service disciplinary procedures and provide support in conducting investigations on alleged misconduct.
- Develop and implement strategies and systems related to grievance and disciplinary mechanisms.
- Facilitate training and advocacy on labour-related matters to enhance understanding within the department.
- Represent the department in conciliation and arbitration proceedings, managing disputes effectively.
- Create and maintain a case management database for all labour-related matters.
- Advise employees and managers on labour relations issues, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 certificate and an NQF 7 qualification in Labour Relations or Labour Law.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in labour relations, including disputes, disciplinary hearings, conciliations, and arbitrations.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures applicable to labour relations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong ability to negotiate and facilitate discussions.
- Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to manage records and statistics effectively.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
