What You’ll Do

  • Manage grievances, disputes, and disciplinary processes within the department
  • Investigate cases of misconduct and grievances
  • Represent the department in hearings and litigation processes
  • Oversee the Labour Relations Database to ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Conduct training workshops on labour-related issues for employees
  • Implement and interpret policies related to labour relations
  • Advise employees and managers on relevant labour matters
  • Manage resources within the Labour Relations Directorate

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 06) in Human Resource Management, Labour Relations, or Labour Law
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Extensive experience in Labour Relations Management, with relevant experience at a Junior Management level
  • Knowledge of PERSAL is an advantage
  • Familiarity with the South African Constitution, Public Service Act, and Labour Relations policies
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflict effectively
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and report writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure, demonstrating resourcefulness and trustworthiness
