What You’ll Do
- Provide formal legal advice regarding labour disputes, misconduct, and litigation to stakeholders.
- Research and analyze applicable labour legislation and case law.
- Draft learning outcomes and present them to stakeholders related to misconduct and dispute resolution.
- Manage and present evidence in misconduct cases and labour court proceedings.
- Facilitate training sessions on misconduct, labour disputes, and court matters.
- Attend and present case law at Employee Relations forums and other relevant meetings.
- Oversee the management of staff within the sub-directorate and act as Director-ER in their absence.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum qualification of a 3-year National Degree/Diploma in Law (LLB) or Labour Law.
- Relevant experience in handling and managing labour disputes, including conciliation and arbitration.
- Proven experience in managing misconduct cases and litigation in a labour court context.
- Managerial experience is essential for this role.
- Basic computer literacy and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant labour legislation and health sector regulations.
- Experience with dispute resolution processes and familiarity with the 286 Bargaining Council and CCMA.
- Understanding of labour court procedures and the ability to work under pressure.

Requirements
Minimum educational qualification: An appropriate 3-year National Degree/Diploma in Law (LLB) or in Labour Law.Experience: Appropriate experience in the handling and management of labour disputes (conciliation and arbitration), misconduct cases and labour court litigations.
Appropriate managerial experience.
Competencies (knowledge/skills): Basic computer literacy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of all relevant Labour Legislation and all other legislation relevant to the Health Sector.
Knowledge, experience, and skills wrt dispute resolution of the relevant 286 Bargaining Council and CCMA.
Knowledge, experience, and skills wrt Labour Court procedures and practices.
Ability to work under pressure.
Job Duties
Providing formal legal advice and guidance to all relevant stakeholders pertaining to Labour disputes, misconduct and Litigation matters.Researching, analyzing, and evaluating applicable Labour Legislation and case law.
Drafting and presenting learning outcomes to all relevant stakeholders in relation to misconduct cases, labour disputes and litigation matters.
Managing and presenting evidence regarding misconduct cases, labour disputes and labour court litigation matters.
Facilitate training regarding misconduct, labour disputes and labour court matters.
Attend, participate and present case law at all ER and all other related forums as requested.
Management of Staff within the sub-directorate: Disputes and Litigation Act as Director-ER in the absence of the Director.
