What You’ll Do

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans for economic empowerment.
  • Support the establishment and growth of enterprises, focusing on target groups and sectors.
  • Facilitate engagement with stakeholders, including businesses and government agencies, to foster collaborative initiatives.
  • Develop and promote B-BBEE intervention programmes and create an enabling environment for their implementation.
  • Provide both financial and non-financial support to enterprises to enhance their growth and sustainability.
  • Identify economic opportunities and develop strategies for vulnerable groups to access resources.
  • Manage resources effectively in line with relevant policies and legislation.
  • Oversee capacity building and mentorship programmes to enhance skills and competencies within the community.

What You’ll Need

  • An NQF 6 qualification in Commerce, Business Studies, Economics, Business Management, or a related field recognized by SAQA.
  • Five years of experience in business communities, disadvantaged groups, and the development environment, with three years at a supervisory level.
  • A valid driver’s license (not applicable for persons with disabilities).
  • Strong knowledge of national and provincial policy frameworks and local government systems related to economic development.
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability in people management, project management, and team leadership.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on client orientation and diversity management.
