What You’ll Do

• Oversee the technical evaluation and trade tests for candidates in automotive-related fields.
• Manage the moderation of trade tests to ensure fairness and accuracy in results.
• Develop and implement procedure manuals and instructional materials for trade tests.
• Supervise the performance training and development of staff within the automotive division.
• Handle budget management and procurement processes for the automotive unit.
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act in workshops.
• Act as a liaison officer between the department and various stakeholders.
• Maintain accreditation for the automotive unit and ensure quality assurance processes are in place.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Automotive Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• A qualified Artisan status in an automotive-related trade.
• Possession of Assessor and Moderator certificates.
• A minimum of five years of supervisory and technical training experience in trade testing after qualifying as an Artisan.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Strong knowledge of the Public Financial Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations.
• Familiarity with the Skills Development Act and relevant trade testing regulations.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and management skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
