What You’ll Do

• Conduct and moderate trade testing in the electrical field, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Implement and maintain the Assessment and Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) processes.
• Supervise Trade Assistants and support their professional development.
• Procure and maintain assessment equipment and materials required for testing.
• Assess and evaluate the performance of staff within the unit.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments and ensure their safekeeping.
• Conduct moderation of trade testing both internally and externally.

What You’ll Need

• A relevant National Technical Certificate N3 or equivalent qualification in the electrical trade.
• A Trade Test Certificate in the relevant trade area.
• An Assessor certificate and a valid driver’s license.
• A minimum of three years’ trade-related experience post-qualification as an artisan.
• Experience in artisan training or assessment, ideally three to five years.
• Knowledge of the Skills Development Act of 1998 and related regulations.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with strong planning and organizing skills.
• Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills, along with supervisory and problem-solving abilities.
