What You’ll Do

  • Design and analyze surveys to ensure compliance with set standards and principles.
  • Perform audits and final reviews of new survey applications.
  • Coordinate design efforts across various disciplines for seamless integration with technology.
  • Maintain survey operational effectiveness and manage the execution of maintenance strategies.
  • Set standards and specifications for survey maintenance according to organizational objectives.
  • Monitor maintenance efficiencies to align with departmental goals.
  • Provide financial management services to ensure adherence to the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).
  • Manage operational survey project portfolios to meet organizational needs.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing initiatives and manage significant risks within the department.
  • Render people management services to cultivate a competent workforce within the discipline.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in Survey or Cartography (NQF Level 6) or a related equivalent qualification.
  • Compulsory registration with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) as a Survey Technician or Surveyor.
  • A minimum of 6 years of post-qualification technical experience in survey or cartography.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, governance principles, and operational compliance.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills, with a focus on strategic capability and leadership.
  • A valid driver’s license.
