About the Role
The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment is seeking a dedicated Control Environmental Officer Grade A based at its Head Office in Polokwane. What You’ll Do
- Coordinate joint initiatives to strengthen anti-poaching and anti-trafficking capabilities in Limpopo.
- Manage case dockets and support criminal investigations related to wildlife crimes.
- Oversee compliance monitoring and enforcement operations.
- Provide assistance during court appearances and liaise with various stakeholders.
- Attend relevant meetings and forums to discuss wildlife crime initiatives.
- Compile monthly and quarterly reports for the Directorate.
- Ensure the effective use of eCAS and CMOR Systems/Platforms.
What You’ll Need
- An NQF 6 qualification in Nature Conservation, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of three to five years’ experience in investigating or enforcing environmental crimes, with three years in a supervisory role.
- Designated Environmental Management Inspector status.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of environmental policies, legislation, and the criminal justice system.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and within a team under pressure.
