What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate joint initiatives aimed at combating poaching and trafficking in Limpopo Province.
  • Manage case dockets and provide support for criminal investigations related to wildlife crimes.
  • Oversee compliance monitoring and enforcement operations to ensure adherence to legal standards.
  • Provide assistance during court appearances and liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Attend national and provincial meetings related to wildlife crime and enforcement strategies.
  • Compile monthly and quarterly reports for the Directorate to track progress and outcomes.
  • Implement and utilize eCAS and CMOR systems/platforms to enhance operational efficiency.

What You’ll Need

  • An NQF 6 qualification in Nature Conservation, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Law, Natural Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in the investigation or enforcement of environmental crimes, with at least three years in a supervisory role.
  • Designated Environmental Management Inspector certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental policies, legislation, and the criminal justice system.
  • Excellent legal drafting, investigation, and evidence-gathering skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, along with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
