What You’ll Do
- Manage the hunting industry and oversee damage-causing animal operations.
- Monitor game hunts and manage game farming activities.
- Facilitate the establishment of wildlife centres and manage game capture operations.
- Collect specimens for forensic analysis related to wildlife crimes.
- Ensure compliance with the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
- Oversee permit processing systems for wildlife trade, including elephant ivory and rhino horns.
- Manage financial, human, and physical resources in line with relevant legislation.
What You’ll Need
- An NQF 6 qualification in Nature Conservation, Environmental Science, or related fields.
- A minimum of six years’ experience in the biodiversity or conservation field, with at least three years in hunting and wildlife permitting.
- A valid SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate (Rifle).
- Knowledge of environmental biodiversity legislation and hunting regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Proficiency in computer literacy and ability to work under pressure.
