The Department of Agriculture is looking for a dedicated Control Animal Health Technician to join its team in the Bojanala region, specifically at the Ngaka Modiri Molema Veterinary Trade Head Office. What You’ll Do
- Supervise the implementation of vaccination programs for controlled diseases as per the Animal Disease Act.
- Oversee the activities involved in Primary Animal Health Care.
- Manage the organisation and execution of community clinics to provide essential veterinary services.
- Lead the National and Provincial survey of prescribed diseases within the North West province.
- Coordinate the implementation of Brucellosis and Tuberculosis eradication schemes.
- Participate in the movement of buffaloes within and out of the North West Province.
- Report to the line function manager and implement the Performance Management Development System for your team.
What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Health or a National Diploma in a related field.
- Registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC).
- A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in the field.
- Supervisory experience is considered an advantage.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- A good understanding of the Animal Disease Act 35 of 1984.
- A certificate for TB and CA courses.
- A valid driver’s license is essential.
