About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Contract Sessional Medical Specialist Grade 1-3 to join the team at Witbank Hospital, located in the heart of the Nkangala District. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality patient care and advancing the health services provided to the community. In this position, you will take on a variety of responsibilities, including the management of patients within a level 2/3 package of service facility. What You’ll Do
- Manage patient care in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient management.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Actively participate in academic and training programs for staff development.
- Conduct clinical audits to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.

What You’ll Need
- Appropriate qualifications for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Infectious Diseases.
- Relevant experience in a clinical setting, with requirements varying by grade (Grade 1: less than 5 years, Grade 2: 5-10 years, Grade 3: 10+ years).
- Sound knowledge of medical ethics and current health regulations.
- Strong competencies in clinical assessment, management, and consultations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team under pressure.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
