The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking dedicated Construction Project Managers to join their team at the Gqeberha Regional Office. What You’ll Do
- Contribute to project initiation, scope definition, and scope change control for various construction projects.
- Manage full project management functions, including cost, quality, and time control.
- Oversee project cost estimates and manage changes in accordance with allocated budgets.
- Plan and facilitate project meetings throughout all project phases.
- Assist in compiling documentation to support project processes and ensure compliance with government requirements.
- Implement procurement activities in alignment with government policies.
- Engage with multi-disciplinary construction teams to ensure the successful execution of projects.
- Monitor and assure that project execution adheres to approved norms and schedules.
What You’ll Need
- A National Higher Diploma in a Built Environment field with at least 4 years and 6 months of certified experience, or a B-Tech with 4 years of managerial experience, or an Honours degree with 3 years of experience.
- Valid driver’s license and compulsory registration with the SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Project Manager upon appointment.
- Proficiency in computer literacy and knowledge of relevant acts, including the Public Finance Management Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Strong planning, financial, and budget management skills, along with excellent analytical abilities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, and familiarity with JBCC and GCC contracts.
