What You’ll Do

  • Handle internal and external communications for the Regional Office.
  • Conduct research relevant to communication initiatives.
  • Draft speeches, media statements, and press releases for departmental events.
  • Prepare and facilitate the printing of departmental publications, including newsletters and reports.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the department’s communication policy.
  • Update information on the departmental website and liaise with web designers.
  • Monitor media coverage and compile synoptic reports on issues affecting the department.
  • Assist with the coordination of departmental events to enhance the department’s image.
  • Represent the unit in various meetings and perform additional functions as required.

What You’ll Need

  • A bachelor’s degree or national diploma (NQF Level 6) in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Marketing and Communication environment.
  • Knowledge of social media practices and channels.
  • Understanding of brand guidelines and graphic design principles.
  • Familiarity with stakeholder management and event management.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and website maintenance.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
