What You’ll Do
- Monitor and report on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) indicators using specific identification tools.
- Train and develop healthcare employees in IPC practices to maintain a culture of safety.
- Conduct inspections to ensure IPC plans are thoroughly implemented across health facilities.
- Manage the establishment and training of Infection Prevention and Control Committees.
- Collaborate with external health accreditation representatives to identify areas for improvement.
- Regularly revise policies, procedures, and standards related to infection prevention and control.
What You’ll Need
- Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- A 4-year bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent qualification that permits registration with the SANC.
- Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse and a Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control.
- A minimum of 7 years of recognized nursing experience post-registration.
- Valid driver’s license (code B/EB) and proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, TEAMS, Zoom).
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and policies within the public health sector.
