What You’ll Do

  • Provide optimal, holistic specialized nursing care within professional/legal frameworks.
  • Deliver comprehensive health care services in the Primary Health Care Unit.
  • Manage resources efficiently to ensure quality patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and adhere to patient care standards.
  • Supervise nursing staff and implement effective patient care practices.
  • Maintain compliance with Infection Prevention and Control policies.
  • Ensure that medical equipment is functional and ready for use.
  • Plan and organize work effectively, including that of support personnel.
  • Contribute to staff development and performance management initiatives.
  • Report on patient safety incidents and challenges within the unit.
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Uphold the Batho-Pele Principles and the Patient’s Rights Charter in all interactions.

What You’ll Need

  • Senior Certificate / Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.
  • Basic qualification accredited with the SANC (e.g., Diploma/Degree in General Nursing).
  • Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse and Midwife.
  • Minimum of 14 years of appropriate nursing experience post-registration.
  • At least 10 years of specialized experience in Primary Health Care after obtaining the one-year post-basic qualification.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good supervisory and teaching skills to guide junior staff.
