What You’ll Do
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the Marriages Unit.
- Monitor performance against service level standards, addressing any backlogs and trends.
- Compile daily and weekly performance reports regarding turnaround times and error rates.
- Implement measures to ensure quality service delivery in line with departmental standards.
- Manage records and documentation according to DHA policies and procedures.
- Provide technical advice and support to staff in daily operations.
- Allocate tasks to staff and monitor progress towards daily targets.
- Compile quarterly and annual reports for departmental reporting frameworks.
- Escalate any irregularities or fraudulent activities in accordance with prescribed procedures.
- Foster strong relationships with departmental and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and legislation.
- Support the effective management of human, physical, and financial resources within the unit.
- Mentor and coach staff on best practices and compliance requirements.
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification in Public Administration, Public Management, Operations, or Business Management at NQF level 6.
- A minimum of two years’ supervisory experience in operations and client services.
- Knowledge of the Births and Deaths Registration processes is an advantage.
- Understanding of departmental legislation and prescripts related to Civic Services.
- Basic knowledge of Human Resource Regulatory Framework and Public Service Regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
- Flexibility, accountability, and analytical thinking.
- Excellent planning, organising, and time management skills.
- Strong client and customer service orientation.
- Proficient in computer literacy and good verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills and report writing abilities.
