What You’ll Do

  • Provide care and support to children and youth, addressing their developmental needs.
  • Understand and cater to the physical, emotional, spiritual, cognitive, and social requirements of the individuals in your care.
  • Maintain administrative records, including logbooks and incident reports, to ensure compliance with care centre protocols.
  • Role model positive behaviour and participate in activities that teach essential skills to children and youth.
  • Assist in the implementation of structured programs and activities based on identified needs.
  • Promote and uphold the rights of children and youth, advocating for their best interests.
  • Familiarise yourself with and adhere to the rules and procedures of the care centre.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Senior Certificate is essential.
  • Recognizable experience in child and youth care will be considered for appointment.
  • Strong communication skills to convey information effectively to children and youth.
  • Empathy and the ability to build positive relationships with young individuals.
  • Trustworthiness and honesty in all interactions.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues.
  • Understanding and application of principles in child and youth care.
  • Basic computer literacy.
