What You’ll Do

  • Supervise care and development programs for children and youth in various care facilities.
  • Monitor daily routines and therapeutic activities to ensure the well-being of service users.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to formulate and implement individual developmental plans.
  • Provide guidance and real-time feedback to Child and Youth Care workers to enhance their performance.
  • Mentor and coach staff, promoting professional development and effective handling of complex situations.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of programs tailored to meet the developmental needs of children and youth.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including incident reports and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Advocate for the rights of children and youth, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and quality standards.

What You’ll Need

  • Grade 12 certificate and a certificate in Child and Youth Care.
  • Current proof of registration with the South African Council for Social Services Professionals (SACSSP).
  • Experience in Child and Youth Care Centres (CYCC) is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team.
  • Problem-solving, planning, and organizing skills.
  • Leadership abilities and knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in Child and Youth Care.
  • Willingness to work shifts as required.
