What You’ll Do

• Conduct and supervise quality control for new construction projects and maintenance work.
• Monitor compliance with the National Building Regulations during property inspections.
• Provide technical advice on contracts and in-house construction projects to ensure adherence to regulations and processes.
• Attend project meetings and compile detailed reports on progress and compliance.
• Conduct condition assessments on government facilities and coordinate maintenance efforts.
• Oversee inspections of client-occupied buildings to advise on asset management.
• Monitor the effectiveness of contractors and small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) involved in projects.
• Facilitate skills development and training opportunities for team members.
• Ensure efficient workflow and quality control within the team of Works Inspectors.
• Manage resources effectively, ensuring proper utilization and reporting on expenditures.

What You’ll Need

• National Senior Certificate and a National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Mechanical or a related field, or a completed N3 and passed trade test in Mechanical within the built environment.
• Registration as an Engineering Technician with at least 3 years of relevant experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license for travel to various sites.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Building Regulations and Quality Control processes.
• Strong management skills, including people management and conflict resolution.
• Proficient in computer literacy, report writing, and effective communication.
• Ability to analyze problems and propose suitable solutions while working collaboratively in a team.
