About the Role
The Department of Education is seeking dedicated individuals for the position of Chief Network Controller in various districts across Limpopo, including Capricorn South, Mopani West, Mopani East, Sekhukhune South, Vhembe West, and Waterberg Districts. What You’ll Do
- Supervise and coordinate all network and communication system operations within the department.
- Monitor network performance and security, utilizing advanced tools to ensure optimal functionality.
- Ensure reliable connectivity across departmental sites, including LAN, WAN, and WiFi networks.
- Oversee backup and data recovery procedures to safeguard essential information.
- Maintain comprehensive ICT documentation to support operations and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to ICT security standards and data protection policies.
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 6 qualification recognized by SAQA.
- Qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, or Telecommunication Engineering/Electronic Engineering are advantageous.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Information Technology or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license (not required for applicants with disabilities).
- Knowledge of network design, security, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, OSPF, and BGP.
- Understanding of LAN/WAN technologies and their applications.
