What You’ll Do

• Develop, interpret, and customize functional and technical norms and standards for electrical engineering.
• Investigate and evaluate proposals for innovative service delivery mechanisms.
• Undertake feasibility studies to assess project viability and sustainability.
• Compile briefing documentation and technical specifications for engineering projects.
• Oversee the implementation and commissioning of electrical engineering installations.
• Conduct research to stay current with new technologies and procedures in the field.
• Liaise with professional councils and boards to ensure compliance with engineering standards.

What You’ll Need

• A Degree in Electrical Engineering (B Eng/BSc Eng) is required.
• Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience post-registration as a Professional Engineer.
• A valid driver’s license (Code B/EB) and a willingness to travel within the Western Cape and occasionally nationally.
• Proficiency in MS Office and strong computer skills.
• Familiarity with the design and construction of complex buildings.
• Experience with feasibility studies, life cycle costing, and Green Building technologies.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills in English.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
