What You’ll Do

• Review and approve audits on new engineering designs to ensure compliance with established principles.
• Research and assess the infrastructure needs of educational institutions to inform design and maintenance strategies.
• Co-ordinate engineering design efforts across different disciplines for seamless integration with current technologies.
• Monitor the performance of deployed technology and oversee the implementation of maintenance strategies.
• Set engineering standards, specifications, and service levels to align with organizational objectives.
• Compile risk logs and manage significant risks in accordance with sound risk management practices.
• Provide technical consulting to minimize engineering risks and ensure operational efficiency.
• Manage the allocation and monitoring of resources, ensuring effective budget control and cash flow management.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing initiatives to support individual development and operational requirements.
• Oversee the operational capital project portfolio to meet departmental objectives and enhance service delivery.

What You’ll Need

• A Degree (NQF 7) in Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of six years of post-qualification experience as a registered Professional Engineer/Technologist.
• Valid registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer/Technologist.
• A valid Driver’s License.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant acts and regulations governing engineering practices in South Africa.
• Proven skills in strategic leadership, problem-solving, and project management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams effectively.
• Competency in financial management and budget control.
