What You’ll Do
- Review and approve audits on new engineering designs to ensure compliance with established principles.
- Research and assess the infrastructure needs of educational institutions to inform design and maintenance strategies.
- Co-ordinate engineering design efforts across different disciplines for seamless integration with current technologies.
- Monitor the performance of deployed technology and oversee the implementation of maintenance strategies.
- Set engineering standards, specifications, and service levels to align with organizational objectives.
- Compile risk logs and manage significant risks in accordance with sound risk management practices.
- Provide technical consulting to minimize engineering risks and ensure operational efficiency.
- Manage the allocation and monitoring of resources, ensuring effective budget control and cash flow management.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing initiatives to support individual development and operational requirements.
- Oversee the operational capital project portfolio to meet departmental objectives and enhance service delivery.
What You’ll Need
- A Degree (NQF 7) in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of six years of post-qualification experience as a registered Professional Engineer/Technologist.
- Valid registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer/Technologist.
- A valid Driver’s License.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant acts and regulations governing engineering practices in South Africa.
- Proven skills in strategic leadership, problem-solving, and project management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams effectively.
- Competency in financial management and budget control.
