About the Role
The Department of Local Government is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Director: Municipal Performance Monitoring and Support Services based in Cape Town, Western Cape. What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage strategic initiatives to enhance municipal performance.
- Develop and implement local government legislation and policies.
- Conduct formal and informal investigations into municipal governance issues.
- Monitor municipal performance in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Oversee infrastructure development projects within municipalities.
- Provide support and training to municipal staff to enhance their capabilities.
- Manage human and financial resources effectively to ensure operational efficiency.
What You’ll Need
- A qualification at NQF 7 level, as recognized by SAQA.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior managerial role.
- Strong strategic capability and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in project and programme management.
- Expertise in change management and empowering teams.
- Financial management skills to oversee departmental budgets and resources.
