What You’ll Do
- Oversee the development, planning, and implementation of educational policies for further education and training.
- Ensure compliance with national and provincial educational frameworks and regulations.
- Manage the administration of public examinations, including question paper creation and marking.
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including organized labour and educational institutions.
- Provide strategic leadership and contribute to the department’s overall direction.
- Empower and develop staff through coaching and skills transfer.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of educational policies and programs.
- Manage resources efficiently, including human resources and finances.
What You’ll Need
- A recognised Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF level 7) relevant to the field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a middle or senior managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of education policies and legislation relevant to further education and training.
- Strong managerial and service delivery skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- A postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
