The Department of Trade and Industry is seeking a dedicated Chief Director: Business Regulations & Governance to be based in Polokwane. This vital position plays a crucial role in managing the Business Regulation and Governance Chief Directorate, ensuring the effective implementation of key legislation such as the Limpopo Business Registration Act and the Limpopo Liquor Act. What You’ll Do
- Manage the Business Regulation and Governance Chief Directorate effectively.
- Implement the Limpopo Business Registration Act and the Limpopo Liquor Act.
- Oversee all Business Registration centres within the province.
- Lead initiatives to promote a healthy trading environment in the liquor industry.
- Coordinate with national and local stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Facilitate policy development and create strategic business plans.
- Manage resources (financial, human, and physical) according to regulatory directives.
- Provide support services for the Liquor Board and Consumer Court.
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF 7) in a relevant field (e.g. Business Administration, Public Administration, Law).
- A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
- At least five years of experience at a senior managerial level.
- Valid driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
- Strong strategic capability and leadership skills.
- Experience in programme and project management.
- Knowledge of the legislative framework governing Business Regulations and Consumer Affairs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
