What You’ll Do

  • Identify, negotiate, and establish affiliation agreements for student placements in various clinical and community settings.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate clinical supervisors to ensure quality mentorship for students.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of training sites and supervisors to uphold educational standards.
  • Coordinate student placements, ensuring a diverse range of experiences and adherence to program requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive orientation sessions for students prior to their clinical rotations.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for students during their placements, addressing concerns and providing guidance.
  • Oversee the student evaluation process, including assessments by supervisors and reflective assignments.
  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate clinical learning objectives with coursework seamlessly.
  • Maintain accurate records of student placements and performance data to meet accreditation standards.
  • Participate in program review and accreditation activities, providing necessary data and insights.
  • Engage in staff training and provide exceptional nutritional care to patients.
  • Potentially teach courses related to clinical skills and professional practice as needed.
  • Promote dietetic services and contribute to ongoing research initiatives.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Diploma or Degree in Dietetics that qualifies for registration with the HPCSA as a Dietitian.
  • A Master’s qualification is an added advantage.
  • Current registration with the HPCSA as a Dietitian.
  • Strong knowledge of food services and community nutrition.
  • Understanding of relevant health policies and regulations affecting nutrition outcomes.
  • Familiarity with HPCSA accreditation standards for supervised experiential learning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle complex tasks.
  • Proficiency in office software and experience with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
