About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager Nursing (Area) for the Night Duty position at Frere Tertiary Hospital, located in the vibrant Buffalo City Metro area. What You’ll Do
- Delegate and supervise nursing staff to ensure effective patient care
- Coordinate and monitor nursing care plans and their evaluations
- Establish constructive working relationships with nursing professionals and stakeholders
- Participate in developing and implementing nursing guidelines, standards, and procedures
- Monitor the utilization of financial and physical resources in nursing
- Use information technology and management systems to enhance service delivery
- Advocate for nursing ethos and professionalism among staff
What You’ll Need
- Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent)
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse
- Minimum of 8 years of post-registration nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
- Knowledge of relevant legal frameworks, including PFMA and Labour Relations
- Strong managerial, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with key healthcare priority areas and ability to manage pressure
- Valid driver’s licence and computer literacy
