What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to the development and review of the Risk Management Framework, guidelines, and operational standards.
  • Support the rollout of Combined Assurance initiatives across departments and municipalities.
  • Conduct research to identify and benchmark best practices in risk management.
  • Monitor and assess the implementation of risk management strategies within various entities.
  • Compile risk maturity assessments and oversight reports for presentation at relevant risk committees.
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate risk assessments to enhance departmental and municipal risk profiles.
  • Analyze internal and external environments for emerging risks and conduct trend analysis.
  • Participate in capacity-building initiatives within departments and municipalities.
  • Provide hands-on support as needed to ensure effective risk management practices.
  • Ensure timely submission of management reports and perform additional responsibilities to support the directorate.

What You’ll Need

  • A three-year tertiary qualification (NQF level 7) in Risk Management, Accounting, Finance, or Auditing.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Risk Management or Risk-based Auditing.
  • A valid driver’s license is essential.
  • Membership with the Institute of Risk Management of South Africa (IRMSA) is an added advantage.
