What You’ll Do

  • Analyse and document business functional and technical requirements from stakeholders.
  • Map business processes to ensure clarity and manage dependencies effectively.
  • Build and maintain a repository of business processes for future reference.
  • Develop and negotiate technical specifications for business process automation.
  • Identify current and future state business processes and assist stakeholders in adapting to changes.
  • Manage risks and audit queries while ensuring compliance with relevant ICT policies.
  • Oversee systems development projects and identify software needs for procurement.
  • Document systems thoroughly and coordinate maintenance and enhancements.
  • Investigate and resolve complex system-related issues, ensuring reliability of departmental applications.
  • Compile and submit operational reports to measure progress and effectiveness.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 certificate and a National Diploma (NQF 6) in Information Technology or a related field.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in the same fields is an advantage.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in the ICT industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as HTML, JAVA, .Net, PHP, C#, Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of project management practices and systems development life cycle.
  • Understanding of public service regulations and ICT policies.
  • Excellent presentation, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Requirements

A Grade 12 certificate and a National Diploma (NQF 6) qualification in Information Technology/ information Systems/Computer Science/ Computer Software Engineering/ Informatics/ Management Information Systems or Business Information Management.

A Bachelor's degree (NQF 7) qualification in the above fields will be an advantage.

Qualifications in Microsoft Azure Developer Expert and Microsoft Apps will be an added advantage.

3 – 5 years’ experience in ICT Industry with at least 2 years’ experience at a supervisory level.

Knowledge of a process Based Approach Project Management Practice, Systems Development Life Cycle, database design and management.

Knowledge of Web Application Development (HTML, JAVA, .

Net, PHP, C#, Python, JavaScript, PHP, C++, and SQL.

and/or other web application portal technology and programming languages.

Skills and Competencies: Sound knowledge of PFMA, Public Service Act, Public Service, National Treasury Regulations and ICT prescripts.

Software languages and associated development platforms and tools, Multi-tier Software architectures and interfaces, System monitoring (availability, manageability, reliability and security), Software development methodologies, IT service management principles for incident, Change, Problem and Release Management, Technical standards/procedures, Expertise in selected software languages, associated framework and tools, Departmental Procedures and Processes.

Presentation and project management skills.

Information and data Security.

Risk 236 assessment and mitigation.

Disaster recovery technologies.

A valid driver’s license.

Job Duties

Analyse, evaluate, design, validate, define and document detailed business functional and technical requirements of multiple stakeholders.

Map business process to ensure transparency, dependencies and process lifecycle management.

Build a repository and database of business processes.

Develop, facilitate and negotiate technical requirements and technical solutions amongst multiple stakeholders to business problems.

Develop technical specification for anticipated business process automation.

Identify the current and future state business processes.

Help business stakeholders to envision the future and how their work will need to change to support the future including data migration rules, business rules and enforcing elements of system design.

Establish process dependencies and duplications.

Manage risks, audit queries and resources.

Ensure compliance with relevant ICT policies, standards, legislation and governance frameworks.

Develop mechanisms and or ways of resolving the identified issues to ensure system development success.

Manage systems development projects.

Identify software needs for procurement and development.

Ensure that systems are properly documented and meet business requirements, coordinating the maintenance and enhancement of existing systems, investigating and resolving complex system-related incidents and problems, ensuring the availability, reliability and continuous improvement of departmental applications.

Compile and submit operational reports.

Salary

R605 742 per annum
