What You’ll Do
- Maintain accurate payroll management, ensuring timely processing of salaries, allowances, deductions, and benefits.
- Assist employees with calculations of travel and subsistence claims, both locally and internationally.
- Authorize and check travel claims on the PERSAL system to ensure correctness.
- Reconcile salary-related suspense accounts and manage debt collections.
- Ensure compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and other relevant legislation.
- Facilitate payroll transactions on the PERSAL system and administer employee remuneration.
- Prepare monthly payroll reports and perform reconciliations for audits.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to prevent payroll errors and fraud.
- Supervise the salary office, allocate tasks to subordinates, and respond to salary-related inquiries.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate NQF level 7 qualification in Financial Management, Accounting, Financial Sciences, or a relevant equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of three years of relevant supervisory experience in a payroll environment.
- Familiarity with SARS Easy file for submission of EMP201 and EMP501 is advantageous.
- Strong communication and report writing skills.
- Proficient in PERSAL, BAS, and financial legislation including the Income Tax Act.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to confidentiality and service delivery.
