What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and manage subsidised transport contracts including bus and taxi services.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Land Transport Act (NLTA) and safety standards for transport vehicles.
  • Provide input into the Provincial Integrated Transport Plan (ITP) and oversee financial aspects related to the Public Transport Operating Grant (PTOG).
  • Verify kilometre claims and monthly invoices from service providers, ensuring accurate financial oversight.
  • Maintain evidence portfolios for audit requirements, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Investigate service complaints and community concerns, responding to operator-related disputes.
  • Prepare detailed reports for management, including monthly, quarterly, and annual performance assessments.
  • Align transport services with community needs and recommend necessary route changes.

What You’ll Need

  • A degree or NQF 7 qualification in Transport Management or Transport Planning.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the public transport field.
  • Strong knowledge of the Public Transport Operating Grant (PTOG) Framework and the Division of Revenue Act (DoRA).
  • Proficiency in contract management and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with the National Transport Act and experience in human resource management.
  • A valid driver’s license and computer literacy.
