What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement population policies and strategies in line with governmental objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of various population programmes.
  • Conduct demographic research by engaging relevant stakeholders to gather vital data.
  • Design and facilitate capacity-building programmes for government departments to enhance policy implementation.
  • Promote the integration of population factors into planning processes across various sectors.
  • Conduct advocacy and educational activities to support population and development initiatives.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 certificate and a Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Population Studies, Social Science, or Statistics.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Extensive knowledge of demographic research and relevant Public Service policies and legislation.
  • Strong report-writing and presentation skills, along with computer literacy in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
