What You’ll Do
- Manage and coordinate the implementation of OHS programs within the Department.
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant legislation.
- Develop, review, and implement OHS policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards.
- Facilitate incident investigations and compile detailed reports with actionable recommendations.
- Coordinate OHS training and awareness programs for staff.
- Monitor and support the activities of OHS Committees and Representatives.
- Compile and submit comprehensive OHS reports to management.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding OHS matters.
What You’ll Need
- A three-year National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Safety Management.
- A valid driver’s license.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in an Occupational Health and Safety environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and relevant regulations.
- Understanding of risk management, incident investigation, and compliance monitoring.
- Registration with a relevant professional body, such as SACPCMP, is advantageous.
- Strong supervisory, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and possess problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including report writing and facilitation skills.

Requirements
