About the Role
The Department of Social Development is seeking an Assistant Director: Monitoring and Evaluation Systems, based in Pretoria. What You’ll Do
- Facilitate the development and maintenance of results-based M&E frameworks.
- Coordinate oversight processes for Provincial Social Development Performance Reporting.
- Provide technical support in monitoring and evaluation for the social development sector.
- Design and implement monitoring projects to assess program effectiveness.
What You’ll Need
- A qualification at NQF Level 6 in Public Administration, Public Management, or Social Science.
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience in research, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Solid knowledge of the social development sector and relevant policies, including the Public Service Act and regulations.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative methods, along with statistical software packages (e.g., Atlas-ti, STATA, SPSS).
- Strong data collection and management skills, alongside excellent communication abilities.
- Project management skills and the capability to facilitate and present effectively.

Requirements
A qualification at NQF Level 6, as recognised by SAQA, in Public Administration, Public Management or Social Science PLUS 2-3 years’ experience at a supervisory level in research, monitoring and evaluation field.Knowledge and understanding of Social Development Sector.
Knowledge and understanding of Public Service Act and Regulations.
Knowledge and understanding of monitoring and evaluation policy framework, principles and practices.
Knowledge and understanding of qualitative and quantitative methods and statistical software packages (Atlas-ti, STATA, SPSS, SAS, R, etc).
Knowledge and understanding of POPIA, PAIA and PAJA.
