The Western TVET College is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director: Information Technology to join its Corporate Office in Randfontein, Gauteng. What You’ll Do
- Conduct research to align the college’s ICT policies with provincial and national legislation.
- Organise workshops to raise awareness of new ICT protocols and practices.
- Develop and implement risk management policies related to IT operations.
- Administer and monitor IT security measures and electronic access controls.
- Establish systems to protect hardware and safeguard data integrity.
- Research, develop, and procure specifications for LAN and WAN technologies.
- Distribute access to LAN and WAN resources based on college policy and requirements.
- Manage the setup and maintenance of email, internet, and network connections within the college.
- Troubleshoot and document ICT-related issues, ensuring quick resolutions.
- Advise on the procurement of software and hardware solutions needed for the college.
- Maintain software licenses and monitor hardware and software usage for efficiency.
What You’ll Need
- A Matric/Grade 12 Certificate plus a recognised 3-year National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in an IT environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in computer literacy and understanding of hardware and software systems.
- Strong knowledge of corporate ICT principles, policies, and relevant legislation governing the TVET and public service sectors.
- Excellent administrative, planning, organisational, report writing, project management, problem-solving, and people management skills.
